Residential Treatment Programs and Schools

While working in alignment with the family, we make best choice recommendations to determine that a residential treatment setting is most appropriate.

Choosing among the hundreds available can be a daunting task.

There are hundreds of programs and schools in the United States and they offer many different academic styles, clinical approaches and there are areas of expertise in which some specialize.

Our educational consultants travel extensively and continuously throughout the year to stay current on academic updates, clinical procedures, family support, inside information not generally shared with the public, other changes to the facility itself, professional staff changes, recreational opportunities and best fitting students for what they offer. This gives us the ability to recommend specific programs and schools and we also, at times, will recommend a specific therapist in a program to meet your students specific needs.

Many families these days have heard from a business associate, a dear friend, a family member, even a neighbors’ experiences or have been on the Internet “researching” places themselves. Our clients find great comfort and peace-of-mind knowing that an unbiased, trusted and objective professional, who knows all the ins and outs of this industry, is guiding them in their decision-making. With more than 40 years of combined experience in existence we have literally been a part of the evolution of this business of caring for families and their loved ones. There are several types of residential programs and schools, each with numerous offerings.

We can help determine which best suits your needs.

Residential Treatment Centers

Residential treatment programs and schools are for children, adolescents and teens who have been engaging in some of the most unsafe behaviors and for whom a high-level of clinical sophistication and individualization is needed and required. Students at these programs generally require a thorough diagnosis obtained with educational and psychological evaluations, and then ultimately specialized treatment. These residential treatment programs and schools are the most clinically sophisticated in the spectrum of what is offered.

Specialty Boarding Programs and Schools

Specialty Boarding Programs and Schools are especially effective with children, adolescents and teens diagnosed with a specific learning difference such as ADD / ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, Processing Disorder (APD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Language Processing Disorder, Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Visual Perceptual/Visual Motor Deficit. These programs and schools offer an added level of counseling, mentoring and structure beyond what a traditional boarding school offers. In some situations there is a more integrated curriculum for “emotional growth” and well-being that serves to address the whole person, attending to the individual’s interests, strengths and talents.
